Gloria is committed to equipping, encouraging, and educating groups and individuals in reaching their full potential. Her experiences and skills have prepared her to coach and mentor in the church, healthcare setting, and community. She enjoys leading seminars and workshops on a variety of topics that include Christian issues, health care issues, team development, family life and other related topics. As a mental health professional, she focuses on wholistic care - mind, body, and spirit. Her passion for helping others is why she chose nursing as a profession. Her concern for the unsheltered can be traced back to her days as Assistant Chief of the Domiciliary for homeless veterans in the Cleveland, OH VA Health Care System and her work in the local church.
Dr. Hilton earned her DNP and MSN in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH and her BSN from Albany State University, Albany, GA. She is an Adjunct Professor in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing for Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH and South University, Tampa, FL; she is a Nurse Consultant/Surveyor in Behavior Health for Commission of Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities International (CARF) and is a former Certified Lay Servant Minister of the Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church. She is a member of Bible Based Fellowship Church, Tampa, FL.
Although retired, she remains active in education as part-time professor for South University, Tampa, for 4th year BSN nursing students in Psychiatric/Mental Health Rotation at VA Hospital, Tampa. She is also active in her local church.
She resides in Tampa, FL and enjoys travel, walking (she has completed a marathon and some half marathons), reading and cooking.
