Kevin P. Costa, M.A.

Kevin is currently a consultant working with BRB Consulting Firm since 2018. His area of expertise is helping profit and non-profit organizations prepare or maintain their Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation. He also has over 40 years of experience in the CARF process and has been an active Program Surveyor for the Behavioral Health and Employment field since 2015.

Kevin earned his master’s degree in urban education counseling from Norfolk State and a BA degree in Business Admin from Columbia College.

Kevin is a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer (E-7), he also retired from the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical system after 22 years of service. He started working at the VA as an Addiction Therapist conducting individual, small groups, and family education. In 2006 after he obtained his M.A. in counseling, he switched to the Vocational field helping Veterans with Sever Mental Illness find competitive employment in the community.

Kevin is passionate about helping others and believes in looking at a person’s strength instead of their weakness.

Personally, Kevin like to travel and learn about new cultures. Since retiring from the VA Kevin has traveled to Ecuador, Columbia, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Greece, Japan, Germany, Netherlands, India, and Dubia. Kevin has also been to every state except, Alaska, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
